Kick Fever Fitness – It’s OK to Be Picky

Oversized goals lead to undersized results. You dreamed about losing weight and showing off a teeny bikini at the beach, but because you didn’t have a clear-cut plan, you’re hiding behind oversized T-shirts at the water’s edge.
Wanting to be bathing-suit ready is an attainable goal, but if you don’t figure out exactly what it will take to lose weight, you’ll never make it. Going to the gym twice and dieting for a week aren’t a long-term plan that will help you reach your ultimate goal.

Set short-term goals in place of long-term goals, which are so broad that they actually have no borders. Pick apart your goals until you have a clear plan of how to get from point A to point B. For example, instead of picking a goal like “get skinny by my high school reunion,” pick something more like “walk for 30 minutes every day and stop eating candy at night.”

Think about the why, how, when and where and then map out your plan. Organize these on a timeline, which will help you identify small victories and be realistic about what you’ve accomplished along the way.

The more you dissect the big picture, the more you’ll understand just how each small step is going to get you to your ultimate goal. So go ahead, be picky!
